The Environmental Studies program invites applications from individuals interested in teaching the following EVST 2220-Outdoor Pursuits II in the Winter 2014 semester (begins January 6, 2014).
Subject to budgetary restrictions and sufficient enrolments, appointments will be made on a course by course basis and will not entail any obligation to conduct research or to perform any administrative service for Memorial University. Appointments will be made in accordance with the provisions in the MUN-LUMUN Collective Agreement. Course design and evaluation methods for all courses will be in accordance with the Environmental Studies program regulations and the Memorial University Calendar.
Course Title: EVST 2220—Outdoor Pursuits II
Course Schedule: Monday and Wednesday 930 am -1230 pm
Campus Location: Grenfell Campus
Course Description: EVST 2220
Outdoor Environmental Pursuits II
is the theoretical rationale and practical skills needed to demonstrate basic proficiency in several of the following activities: cross-country skiing, telemark skiing, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, winter camping, and winter survival techniques. The major focus of this course will be the practical application of learned skills.

Qualifications: M.A. or Ph.D. in Environmental Studies or related discipline is preferred. Undergraduate teaching experience and Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors (CANSI), Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA) and Wilderness First Aid certifications would be assets.
