The PSYCHOLOGY SOCIETY is a student-run organization. Fundraising activities allow the society to:
- Host socials with psychology professors
- Organize graduation festivities
- Plan psychology-related events
- Donate funds for non-profit organizations
The Psychology Society's goals are to raise awareness about mental
health, engage students in the field of psychology, and to foster a
positive and encouraging learning environment for students. These goals
are accomplished by:
- Increasing awareness about mental health and decreasing the stigma surrounding mental health issues.
- Giving back to mental health issues in the community through fundraising.
- Catering to students at Grenfell Campus through fun events and fundraisers.
The Psychology Society meets in the Dem Room once a week. We are
always looking for new members and volunteers! It’s a great way to meet
other students, interact with professors, and get involved in campus
The Dem Room (AS 348) is a meeting place for all psychology students. Feel free to use this space to:
- Work on your courses
- Use the computers and other psychology resources
- Socialize / de-stress with other psychology students
- Stay informed by reading relevant notices posted on dem room boards

PRESIDENT, Bethany Bernier
Welcome to the Psychology Society page at Grenfell Campus! My name is Bethany Bernier and I am a third year student completing a B.A in Psychology. I have been a general member of the Psychology Society for the last year and I have learned so many new things and have the ambition to help make a difference at Grenfell! I enjoy all aspects of psychology, but I am mostly interested in the developmental and cognitive field.
The last year I have spent in the Psychology Society has allowed me to develop interpersonal skills, open my mind to issues surrounding mental health and the stigma sometimes associated with it.
You're likely to see me in the Dem room (AS 348), in the hallways, or in the library. I am very approachable and would love to hear any new ideas or recommendations for the Society.
Our Society welcomes everyone with open arms; regardless of your major! Any one is able to join and it is always good to have different points of views on situations! If you have any questions feel free to drop by the Dem room or send me an email!
VICE-PRESIDENT, Emily Alexander
I'm a third year student completing my B.Sc. in Psychology. I've been a member of the Psychology Society for the past two years, and during this time I've learned so much about mental health awareness, and about the amazing psych program at Grenfell. While I have an appreciation for all fields within psychology, I am particularly interested in clinical & forensic psychology, as well as neuropsychology. As an aspiring professor, I care about students, their mental health, and whatever is important to them. Feel free to email me or chat if you ever have any questions or concerns! : )
TREASURER, Lee-Ann Andrews
My name is Lee-Ann, and I am a third year student currently completing a psychology degree with a social cultural minor. I have always had a passion for helping people, so I am interested in working towards a social work degree and I plan to focus on mental health counseling, especially for trauma victims.
While at Grenfell, I have met some amazing people and have made some lifelong friends. The psychology professors at Grenfell are very helpful and friendly, and this makes life in university a little easier.
When I am not in class, I can be found either in the Dem room or at home reading or studying. I will be filling the position of treasurer and if you ever have any questions or want to join the Psychology Society, feel free to stop me in the hall or come visit the Dem room : )
SECRETARY, Brianna Mullins
I am a fourth year student completing my B.A (Hons) in Psychology, with a minor in French. After this degree I plan on furthering my studies to the education field. I have been at Grenfell since 2013 and psychology was the one program that stood out to me in my first year. I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of psychology, however developmental and cognition are my favourite.
I have been a part of the Psychology Society for the past year and it has truly opened my eyes to mental health and how much of an impact we have on the world around us.
My dedication to school takes up a majority of my time, so if I am not in the French lab or Dem room, I can be found in the library. I love helping other people so don't be shy!
Grenfell is an amazing school, particularly the psychology program, and I hope you love it just as much as I do!
SOCIAL MEDIA REPRESENTATIVE, Savannah Bennett
My name is Savannah Bennett (although most people at Grenfell call me Sav). I'm in my third year of a BSc in psychology. I've been in the Psych Society since I came to Grenfell and love being involved in activities, fundraisers, and hanging out in the Dem room. It's very rewarding to help reduce mental health stigma, provide awareness, and make friends in the Psych Society.
If you need any advice, have any questions, or just want to have a chat feel free to say hi : )
SOCIAL MEDIA REPRESENTATIVE, Mary Feltham
Hey friends! My name is Mary Feltham and I am in my 3rd year and currently completing a BSc in Psychology. I'm from Gander and chose Grenfell partly for it's well known psychology courses and the wonderful Psych Society.
Last year was when I really began to get involved in the Psych Society and I am so thankful that I did. I highly recommend anyone of any degree program to come out to our meetings and events (the lovely Sav and I will make sure that our events will be known through social media and posters). If you have any questions, I'm only a message away and I would love to help out in any way that I can. I'm looking forward to a great year with everyone. Hoping to see all your beautiful faces in the fall! : )
