  • Observatory offering opportunity to view partial solar eclipse

    This is a photo of the Moon taken with the telescope at the Grenfell Campus Observatory, one of largest telescopes on a university campus in Canada.


    The last public observing session of the summer will be dedicated to a viewing of the partial solar eclipse, Aug. 21 with special eclipse glasses provided (on first come-first-serve basis). Please join us in AS 2026 at 3 p.m. for a short introductory lecture followed by the narrated viewing of the eclipse. Admission is free and no registration is required.


    The Grenfell Campus observatory has held had several public observation sessions this summer, in both the day time (observing the Sun) and night time (viewing Moon, Jupiter and Saturn) with a total of over a hundred people attending.
