After graduating with a BFA Theatre (Stagecraft) degree in 1997, Bruce joined one of Canada’s foremost scenery fabrication companies, F&D Scene Changes Ltd. With this company he developed fabrication skills in carpentry, welding, prop making, and Rigging.
Bruce has worked on numerous Major motion pictures (Shanghai Noon, X-Men 2, K-19 The Widow Maker, etc) Broadway Productions, (Wicked, Showboat, Ragtime, etc) Made for TV movies, (Identity Theft, Magic Of Ordinary Days, The Ron Clarke Story, etc) and concerts ( Kiss Farewell tour, Brooks and Dunn, Celine Dion, etc).
Jim received a Diploma in Theatre Arts from Niagara College of
Applied Arts & Technology in 1974 and spent 22 years working in
professional theatre and the entertainment business before coming to the
Theatre Program at Grenfell Campus in 1996. He worked for many
years at Theatre New Brunswick as a lighting and sound technician, set
and props builder, stage manager and production manager. During the
1980’s he also operated his own company, Professional Stage Services
providing equipment and production to theatres and entertainment
events. From 1990 to 1996, Jim was the production manager for Magnus
Theatre in Thunder Bay. He has designed lights for Theatre New
Brunswick, Theatre Lac Brome, Magnus Theatre and Theatre Brockville
as well as set designs for Magnus Theatre, Upper Canada Playhouse,
Theatre Brockville, Lighthouse Theatre Festival and the Gros Morne
Since joining the Theatre Department at Grenfell as the Technical
Director Jim has designed lights for 24 shows and found time to fill in
all the requirements for the BFA (theatre) which was conferred on him
In her sixth year as the Resident Stage Manager, Susan also teaches stage management in the Stagecraft Program. During her time here at the school, she has stage managed Creon, Spring Awakening, The Tempest and The Man of Mode. Most recently she stage managed Suor Angelica with the Bay of Islands Musical Arts; You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and The Anger in Ernest & Ernestine with Stage West Summer Festival; and The Marriage of Figaro for Opera on the Avalon. A native of Corner Brook and graduate of the National Theatre School in Montreal, Susan started her stage management career apprenticing at Centaur Theatre in Montreal, and the Grand Theatre in London, Ontario. In her many years as a professional stage manager, quite a few of them have been stage managing various student productions with George Brown Theatre School in Toronto. Theatre companies she has worked with in the country are: Theatre Gargantua, Toronto; The Great Canadian Theatre Company, Ottawa; the Georgian Theatre Festival, Meaford, ON; the Citadel Theatre, Edmonton; Festival on the Bay, NS; TNL; Stephenville Festival; the Grand Theatres in London and Kingston, ON; Mermaid Theatre, NS and the Muskoka Festival, Bracebridge, ON.
