Do you love to draw? Are you passionate about painting and printmaking? Does sculpture or photography fascinate you? Are you interested in visual culture and the history of art? How about new media and multi media forms of art making? Then the Visual Arts program at Grenfell Campus, Memorial University of Newfoundland, is the experience you've been looking for.
Study in Corner Brook, surrounded by stunning natural beauty, and supported by an encouraging and inspiring team of professional artists and art historians.
We’re a small close-knit community. Everyone is on a first-name basis, and you'll find both faculty and fellow students more than willing to introduce you to the area, chat about art, or perhaps arrange an afternoon of downhill skiing.
During your four years with us you’ll study drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, digital media and visual culture/art history. Many students have an interest in sound and video art, book arts and performance as well as other forms of new media and multi media art making. Whatever interests you our faculty and staff will assist you in pursuing the media that best suits your art practice. We believe that artistic freedom and creative expression require both technical skill and intellectual vision. The workload can be intense, but it will be an enjoyable and memorable experience.
