Grenfell Campus, Memorial University is hosting Frank Foo’s HoopSmart Basketball camp in their newly renovated gymnasium this summer.
The camp will not only focus on individual offensive and defensive skills, but also teach each player specific skills on how to “think” and “read” the game.
Ages: Boys - Grades 9-12
Dates: The camp will run from August 18th-22nd.
Instructor: The camp will be instructed by Frank Foo who is a National Level 3 Certified Coach and a Provincial Basketball Facilitator/Instructor. Frank brings a lot of experience to the camp is sure to help the campers bring their game to the next level.

Grenfell Campus will be hosting an AUS women's basketball exhibition this weekend. The Memorial Sea-hawks will face the St.FX X-Women at 7pm on September 26th and 27th.
The Grenfell Campus men's basketball team will also be in action as they will face the Corner Brook High men's team each night at 5pm.

The Grenfell Campus women's volleyball team and men's & women's basketball teams travelled to face ACAA competition last weekend. The volleyball team travelled to Truro, NS to face nine other university teams in the ACAA Tip-off Tournament and the basketball teams travelled to UNBSJ to face the Sea-wolves in a pair of exhibiton games.

The men's and women's basketball teams and women's volleyball team spent their first weekend of 2015 in Halifax, NS competing against the University of King's College teams.
each team came away without a win, the teams were able to gain valuable
experience to help their programs grow and take the step towards
competing in university sport.
The Grenfell Campus athletics season has been one of
travel and sport development.
Men’s basketball and women’s volleyball both have more than 15
games under their belt and the women’s basketball had 10 games in the first
half. This includes local competition and travel throughout the Atlantic provinces
including trips to universities in Saint John, Truro, Sydney, Prince Edward
Island and Halifax for ACAA tournaments, exhibition and club competition.
“We have the backing from the university to seek out more
competitive games for our teams as we continue to grow athletics here at
Grenfell Campus,” said Kirk Durning, co-ordinator of athletics. “This has lead
us to more games against other universities and club teams of that caliber,
which means travelling to play when they can fit us into their schedule. This
includes league tip-off tournaments, Invitational events and weekend
The travel is providing the teams and athletes the
opportunity to compete against other university teams and experience true
university sport, Mr. Durning said.
“Committing to traveling to compete against other
universities is helping us build our reputation in competitive sport and it
also allows our athletes to see first-hand the commitment necessary to play at
Mr. Durning’s efforts are also focused on bringing more
competition to Grenfell’s newly- renovated gymnasium. The basketball teams will
continue to have Grenfell Gameday on Thursdays and the women’s volleyball team
will be hosting a few local club teams for a series over the next month.

The Grenfell women's basketball team went 5-0 on their way to a second straight Stephenville Invitational Championship. The women dominated the competition, winning each game by an average of 25 points.

Grenfell Campus is hosting the West Coast Classic men's basketball tournament this weekend. The tournament is made up of four teams from Newfoundland and the action will kick off at 6pm on Friday evening. Check our website and @GrenfellSport for updates!
The Grenfell Warriors men's basketball team and the Corner Brook High Titans competed in a three game Battle of the Hill charity series last week. Grenfell won the series 2-1 with an 82-65 victory Saturday evening in the Grenfell Campus gym. All proceeds from admission will be donated to a local charity.
