As approved by the Grenfell Campus Student Union (GCSU), the Grenfell Historical Student Society is the academic society that is led by students of the Historical Studies program. To be a member of the Society, you do not necessarily have to be a major or minor in the program. Anyone who has a passion for History or who is simply interested in becoming part of a society on campus can attend the meetings and take part in our events. The Society consists of a chair, a secretary, a treasurer and a number of general members.
We usually have weekly meetings, during which we plan events and discuss other ideas. If you wish to attend one or more of the meetings, you can drop by any given week. Examples of activities that we have organized in the past year are a mixer, a careers night, a movie night, a public talk, and a potluck. Anyone can attend these events; you do not have to be a Grenfell student. To be kept up to date about upcoming events or the locations of the meetings, you can become a member of our Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1474729316133698/. We hope to see you at one of our meetings or events!
