Research Interests/expertise
Dr. Cake has authored or co-authored a computer programming textbook, 9 journal articles, 4 articles in edited books, 4 articles in professional publications, and 12 reports. He has also presented at 42 conferences and workshops.
Dr. Cake's current research interests include human memory (especially in older adults). He has also worked with a group of researchers from Western Health examining the effects of relocation of individuals with mild to moderate dementia to protective care residences. Economic impact analysis, mass communications and transportation safety have been areas of applied research interests in the past.
Teaching
Dr. Les Cake taught at Grenfell for 29 years before retiring in 2009. He regularly taught Introductory Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Senior Seminar, and courses in Research Design and Analysis.

I am currently working on a research project investigating younger adults’ attitudes toward older adults.

Dr. Cake has served on approximately 62 Grenfell and St. John's committees and served as Coordinator of the Psychology program "back in the day" (1988).
