My nursing practice experience involved Pediatric, Long Term Care and Community Health Nursing in NL, with earlier work in pediatric and adult medicine in Halifax, NS. At the Western Regional School of Nursing I have taught courses in Healthy Aging, Community Health, Complex Care, and other courses.
Nationally, I have participated in certification exam development work at the Canadian Nurses Association. I am on the Provincial and School Exam Committees to help prepare nursing students for licensure and other exams. I have presented my work at national, provincial and regional conferences, and I am a member of many nursing school committees. At Grenfell, I have been a member of the Teaching Committee and the Wellness Centre Group. At MUN, I have been a member of the Governing Council of the Centre for Collaborative Health Professional Education.

My professional research interests include qualitative research methodologies, caregiving, rural issues, and aging. As a qualitative researcher, I am drawn to understanding the meaning of experiences for people in a variety of life experiences.
