We want to make your transition as easy as possible and make every effort to greet new incoming students either at the airport or on campus.
Please make sure to purchase your ticket in advance. Once you have, give us an idea of when to expect you.
Step 1
Proceed to the Star Taxi shuttle service. Ask to be dropped off at Grenfell Campus at the main entrance by the flag poles.
Step 2
Enter the main building. If you don't see anyone, head to your left. You will find a Campus Enforcement and Patrol Officer in an information booth. They will call someone to come assist you. If you have any urgent issues during your trip that require immediate attention, you can call them at +1 709 637-6210 and they will be able to connect you with someone that can offer assistance. This service is free and available 24 hours per day.
Additional Details
There will be a mandatory orientation day for all new international students on January 5th, so you want to plan to arrive before that if you can. Most flights coming to Deer Lake are scheduled in the middle of the night and we plan for that on our end. There are additional fees if you live on campus and move in before Housing officially opens on January 4th. All students that want to check-in before then MUST make arrangements with our Housing Office before December 20th. Extra fees to check in early vary depending on which building you live in, but they are less than $20 per day. Please note that there will be limited services available before January 4th.
