International Student Services
It is recommended that all new international students fill out the Grenfell arrivals form found below once you have all your travel documents ready including your visa/eTA and valid study permit and have registered for courses. Do not fill out the form if you do not have these documents approved. If you have any questions about how to get these documents, please email international@grenfell.mun.ca
If you are going to St. John's campus, click here.
Filling out this form provides us with valuable information that will help us prepare for your arrival, including your arrival date/time and where you will live when you arrive in Corner Brook. It will also allow us to remain connected to keep each other updated with any changes to your arrival plans or process.
The closest airport to Grenfell Campus is Deer Lake Airport YDF. The St. John's airport is 700 KM away from the city of Corner Brook.
Keep in mind that you should be registered for the fall semester before traveling, as you may be asked for proof of enrollment at the Canadian border.
We recommend that all new international students arrive on September 2nd or early September 3rd, as September 4th is a National Holiday in Canada and retail stores will be closed. Please keep in mind that our fall orientation starts on September 3rd but some of our services will be available during that Saturday.
Make sure that your accommodations are booked and notify student housing that you will be arriving on September 2nd before August 15th.
We do not recommend traveling before September 2nd as the student housing move-in date is on September 2, 3, and 4. There will be no rooms available before these dates.
The Airport shuttle from Deer Lake airport to Grenfell campus is ONLY available during the Fall and Winter semester on Student Housing Moving dates. Students arriving on any other dates are responsible for arranging their own transportation which can cost up to $80 CAD for a private taxi. We recommend carrying Canadian currency.
The airport shuttle will be available to students on September 2, 3, and 4 regardless of arrival time; however, you MUST complete the arrivals form in order to avail of this service. In addition, a Grenfell greeter will be at the airport at the moment of your arrival.
If you have any questions, send an email to international@grenfell.mun.ca
